Job Summary & Responsibilities

Duties: Lead development team through the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, rollout and support.  Collaborate with Product Controllers on business application enhancements to improve user workflow, analyze requirements and determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.  Leverage knowledge of financial business fundamentals and systems to resolve functional problems.  Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, etc. to design system and obtain information on project limitations / capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.  Design, develop and modify software systems in Java, Sybase IQ, Procedural programming language, and middle tier technologies such as Hibernate by using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.   Contribute to strategic / technical vision in developing scalable low maintenance infrastructure for proprietary P&L and balance sheet accounting.  Code, test and troubleshoot programs.  Analyze performance of programs and correct deficiencies.  Document system problems and resolutions.  Mentor Junior developers.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field or Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field plus three (3) years of experience (with Master’s degree) in an object oriented programming software design and development role or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s degree) in an object oriented programming software design and development role.  Must have three years of experience in: application development using Java or C++; relational database technologies such as Sybase, Sybase IQ or DB2; and working with users, analyzing and documenting business problems / requirements and designing technical solutions,  Must have eighteen (18) months of experience in: object/relational persistence and query service such as Hibernate; testing frameworks such as JUnit, QTP and Fitnesse; coding multi-threaded applications; use of resource, task and project management applications; financial products, pricing and accounting GAAP; scripting languages, such as Perl or Python; and developer toolsets, such as CVS or Subversion.  Must have one (1) year of experience with ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, C#, and SQL.
