The people accessing the internet, the devices they use and the data they create have changed dramatically in the last 10 years. How will they change in the next 10 years? What cyber security risks will users face then? What opportunities exist for Microsoft businesses to help secure this future environment? Forecasting and narrating these changes is increasingly required to help shape commercially reasonable policies that advance cyber security and enable Microsoft and our customers to innovate and compete in an increasingly complex policy and regulatory environment.

The Global Security Strategy and Diplomacy (GSSD) team seeks a Senior Security Strategist to propose, execute and deliver novel and compelling research that informs our internal cyber security priorities and advances policy positions externally. The Senior Security Strategist will work with members of GSSD, TwC Security and peer organizations to systematically identify and track long term strategic opportunities and challenges related to cyber security. Research projects can vary from identifying what new security requirements come from evolving technology usage patterns to developing white-space strategies for unmet cyber security policy challenges.

The Senior Security Strategist will be responsible for:
• Identifying cyber security risks, challenges, and opportunities for Microsoft and the computing ecosystem.
• Delivering a predictable rhythm of analytical and insightful deliverables at the intersection of technology and policy.
• Performing and/or directing detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis on demographic, technology usage, or security data.
• Creating strategic deep dives on key topics to support priority engagements.
• Converting research and analysis products into strategy and specific actions.

Qualifications:
• Strong analytic and research skills that inform strategic stories in written and oral communications.
• Solid program management experience including cross group collaboration, effective communication at multiple levels, and driving simultaneous projects.
• Skills and passion for driving insights into related projects across the organization.
• Experience with cyber security, network security or Information security preferred.
• Experience with public policy at the national or international level a plus.
• Self-starter attitude, can identify the work to be done and succeed with minimal day to day supervision.
