The Lead Engineer will contribute to the development, design and demonstration of integrated systems, subsystems and components for advanced turbo-shaft and turbo-prop applications that integrate beyond the engine and into the vehicle. This role will have a significant physics based modeling and simulation & systems trades assessment aspects. This role will perform technical assessments across multiple disciplines and will exercise appropriate analytical and design tools to execute tasks.
In addition you will:
  • Perform designs and trades of energy, power, thermal and health management systems
  • Develop and execute physics based models and simulations to enable integrated designs and trades
  • Participate in and lead elements of new business development including conceptual design, proposal preparation, customer interactions, and program planning
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university(or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
  • Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in an electrical, mechanical or aerospace engineering position

  • Advanced degree(s) in relevant areas and/or cross disciplines
  • Experience with and knowledge of relevant rotorcraft or aircraft systems
  • Strong computer modeling & simulation skills and experience
  • Familiarity with TS/TP propulsion systems
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
