This position is responsible for leading the
management and oversight of the GE Capital Bank Anti-Money Laundering
and Bank Secrecy Act program. This role will cultivate relationships
across the business, and within GECA AML and Compliance, to deliver
credible and consistent regulatory compliance support for the
organization’s products and services.
Responsible for the overall implementation of the GE Capital Bank BSA, OFAC, and AML CIP/KYC Program
Partner with the GE Capital Americas AML team in successful
execution and oversight of the outsourcing of many critical elements of
the AML/BSA
Oversee Customer Identification Program (CIP) and effective
implementation of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due
Diligence (EDD) for Bank customers.
Ensure effective transaction monitoring, surveillance processes, and suspicious activity escalation and reporting
Respond to government information request, including 314 (a) requests and subpoenas
Define, implement and review processes and policies to
ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and regulatory expectations
as they relate to AML/CIP/KYC/IBP and other BSA compliance requirements
Identify policy and process gaps and implement improvements designed to increase efficiencies and reduce defects
Maintain external awareness of research trends,
information, and techniques related to money laundering, including
knowledge of banking laws and regulations concerning money laundering,
BSA and the Patriot Act, and ensure they are communicated to appropriate
levels within the business.
Develop cross-functional alliance with Risk, Legal,
Compliance, Operations and Internal Audit functions to enhance process
effectiveness, provide training as necessary, identify and remediate
audit gaps, and implement and monitor controls
Coordinate with the Financial Intelligence Unit
communication of potentially suspicious activity and provide timely
resolution to open/pending actions
Develop communication strategy to build awareness across key stakeholders
Responding to CIP/KYC/AML audits and exam requirements.
Lead and develop a team of Compliance professionals.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulated financial
institution (Compliance, Operations, Risk) or a functional financial
institution regulator or a combination of both.
Previous experience and expertise in Anti-Money Laundering,
Irregular Business Practice prevention and other compliance programs.
Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop teams.

Previous experience in Workout related activities.
Experience leading change in an AML Program for a large, complex financial institution.
Strong communication and influencing skills demonstrated
through interaction with diverse cultures and individuals to achieve
their cooperation and input into AML initiatives.
Strong knowledge of AML requirements with experience performing data collection and analysis.
Strong organizational, analytic and solution facilitation skills.
Strong knowledge of customer screening tools.
Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects.
Experience evaluating complex structures for KYC, CIP, CDD/EDD.
Experience driving AML compliance across global platforms
Previous experience with a transaction monitoring tool such as Actimize.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently and effectively.
Highly motivated, self-starter, ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
