Job Summary & Responsibilities
Duties: Develop personal relationships with research and field consultants at target firms. Communicate daily regarding GSAM asset management investment strategies and organizational questions, positioning our products in the context of each firm’s investment preferences. Articulate investment product features, technical characteristics and risks in the context of appropriate benchmarks for equity, fixed income, and alternative investments. Position as appropriate for various institutional client types. Leverage internal relationships across GSAM product and portfolio management teams and facilitate manager research and field consultant meetings to obtain favorable consultant ratings and short list opportunities. Prepare sales and product teams for sales presentations, updates, and finals by profiling specific consultant points of view and opinions of GSAM strategies. Coordinate with product teams to complete consultant questionnaires and respond to ad-hoc data information requests from consultants. Collaborate with Consultant Relations Team colleagues in EMEA and Asia to share information and support cross regional consultant research and sales initiatives. Contribute to regular and ad-hoc management reports and presentations reflecting role of consultants in new business and retention.Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a related multi-asset management firm.. Prior work experience must include six (6) years: Working for a global, multi-asset class, investment management firm with specific experience servicing institutional investors; Articulating investment product features, technical characteristics and risks in the context of appropriate benchmarks for equity, fixed income, and alternative investment and position products as appropriate for various institutional client types. Prior work experience must include two (2) years: Preparing Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for domestic and international fundamental equity, quantitative equity, fixed income (including high yield and emerging market debt), and private equity, hedge funds and real estate; Interacting with investment consulting organizations providing product updates and responses to consultant data requests; Utilizing knowledge of regulations governing investment vehicles appropriate for ERISA, 501(c)3, public pension, and Taft-Hartley plans as well as defined contribution plans; Developing presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Utilizing knowledge of consultant databases including Mercer GIMD, Investworks, Evestment including competitive analysis metrics. Prior work experience must include 6 months: Functioning as the primary relationship manager leading meetings with research and field consultants at target firms communicating asset management investment strategies. Must possess Series 7 & 63. Must be willing to travel to develop personal relationships with research and field consultants at target firms.
