Description: Located in Stamford, CT, this position reports to the head of Trading and will work closely with other asset sector traders, Credit Research, Portfolio Management and Investments Risk Management. The position is for a Senior CMBS Trader with solid knowledge of RMBS and ABS sectors. Candidate is expected to be a self-starter who has passion for fixed income markets, has very strong quantitative skills, is an independent thinker with good decision making skills, and strong minded with a focus on structured fixed income markets. Candidate should have a strong presence, positive energy and drive, and be able to articulate and present views in front of other investment professionals. Candidate should be able to work under pressure and in a close knit team based environment but will also be expected to help in group reporting and administrative tasks. The trader is responsible for working with research staff to identify the best fit for the portfolio for both new and existing holdings, for executing trades, and for following both sector events and the broader markets. This person will work closely with the other asset class traders, research, asset management, and risk and portfolio management teams to best develop key objectives and a tactical strategy for the asset class as well as actively participate in looking for relative value opportunities and improvement ideas to the existing portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Source new issue and secondary bonds for investment; execute trades
• Develop and frame knowledge of Genworth's portfolios, parameters, and existing holdings to make decisions and recommendations to best fit needs of portfolios
• Work with others traders, research, and risk and portfolio management staff to develop a strategy for existing holdings as well as new investments
• Build and use spreadsheets and other models to download market offerings for evaluation and to maintain transaction information
• Monitor and take ownership of pricing the portfolio on a regular basis and immediately point to any significant price changes
• Follow market movements and specific asset class events, the economy, the broader markets and regulatory environment to develop and maintain opinions on relative value, views on credit trends, market outlook
• Share market findings and views with Credit Research and other traders to develop investment ideas, and educate Investments team on important events
• Report on and discuss markets, trends and developments and their impact on our portfolio in morning meetings, relative value discussions and other reviews
• Assist traders in other asset classes as needed, and train new or more junior traders. Back up other
asset class traders
• Work with Credit Research team to develop ideas and provide clear reporting for quarterly management reviews, all asset class reviews, and discussions within Investments
• Continue and strengthen relationships with the street
• Develop relative value recommendations for asset class and participate in vetting those across other asset classes
• Give accurate pricing to portfolio management for weekly product pricing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years' work experience in Trading in an Investment Department for an Insurance Company or other major Institutional Investor
• In-depth knowledge of the CMBS and CRE markets, and very strong knowledge of other Structured Asset Classes, especially RMBS
• Familiarity with CMBS/RMBS/ABS deal structures and thorough understanding of cash flow analysis and bond math associated with it
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, or related area(s) of study
• Experience working with analytical tools such as Bloomberg, Trepp, Intex, BlackRock Solutions, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Very strong Excel skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Ability to quickly assemble and asses information to influence decision making
• Experience working with large teams in a matrix organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in quantitative science, engineering or finance.
• MBA or CFA
