Job Summary

This position is offered in Apple’s Module & Technology Reliability Group. We guide development teams toward a reliable design of new technology components.

Key Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who is adept in meeting the following objectives.
• - Identify high risk failure modes early in the design life cycle
• - Develop new tests based on the physics of failure and any novel user interactions that the new technology enables
• - Create test specs and drive procurement/qualification of equipment that are critical to validation of reliability
• - Assess reliability through stress test data and failure analysis
• - Provide direction for failure analysis to drive toward root cause

Description

- Exceptional problem solving abilities - Understanding of the physics behind the mechanical & electrical properties of materials - Experience with the design/manufacture of assemblies that convert digital signals into physical (voltage, light, vibration) signals and vice versa - Adept in statistical data analysis and clear reporting - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple projects at once - Capable of managing activities at third party vendor sites overseas - Ability to complete tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner - Flexibility and adaptability to accept new tasks - Dynamic and “can do” attitude engineer with the desire to work with a great team and product

Education

- B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field desired.
