Senior Compliance Associate
The Global Compliance Group is seeking a team member to join its Personal Conflicts Monitoring team in New York. Reporting to the Head of Personal Conflicts Monitoring, key aspects of this role include:
· Monitoring the securities trading activities of staff to identify potential conflicts of interest.
· Maintaining complete and accurate documentation pertaining to compliance activities and/or resolutions.
· Administering the compliance monitoring system.
· Providing guidance to staff with respect to Fitch's policies on securities trading, outside interests, gifts, and confidentiality.
· Supporting the execution of compliance certifications, including the annual compliance certification.
· Providing Compliance Orientation to new hires.
· Assisting with internal compliance reviews and investigations.
This will be a highly visible role and requires a high degree of professionalism and integrity with a demonstrated ability to handle confidential issues with maturity, tact, and sensitivity. The candidate will need to learn about and understand all aspects of Fitch's business and will interact with Fitch personnel at many levels. Other requirements include the following:
· Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting and 1-3 years of professional work experience at a broker dealer, investment manager, or regulatory organization.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Independent initiative and critical thinking skills.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Expertise in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including advanced functions (VBA, macros, pivot tables, etc.).
