Job Description
The Business Intelligence Report Developer’s role is to help design and implement reporting; both ready-made and user self-service. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing and rolling out reporting solutions which can be leveraged by the Business Intelligence team and our internal end-users (this is not a product facing position). The Business Intelligence Report Developer is also responsible for ensuring high levels of backend availability by working with internal support teams and third party support to maintain a certain SLA.
The focus of this role is more on creating and enhancing reports needed to fuel the company’s thirst for data and to help give us a competitive edge in the market. This role will be a significant resource for internal reporting and analysis systems within the organization, reporting directly to the Manager of Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities Include:
- Understanding our business and providing business users with the reporting they need to be successful
- Working with our Business Intelligence Architect and Analysts to develop and build pixel-perfect, interactive and dashboard reports to help us monetize our data
- Define report definitions and interfaces based on multiple data sources and business needs – you will understand what the business needs and create reporting solutions
- Build out an ever expanding business intelligence offering in an agile way – create new reports, grow existing ones and provide ad-hoc analysis as needed – you want to provide value fast
- Work with Business Intelligence team to get the accurate data you need to make valuable reports – you will make reporting accessible to many users in meaningful ways
- As a Business Intelligence Developer you will be responsible for making sure we are distributing good reports and providing a good data foundation for future reporting and analysis
- Staying current with industry trends is a must and innovating and leveraging open-source tools is rewarded
- 2-3 years of working in data and reporting environments and a good understanding database administration, data hygiene and enterprise reporting practices
- Good analytical, problem solving, investigative and research ability in the data world
- Proven experience in selecting and creating the appropriate reporting and analysis solutions to solve business problems or take advantage of opportunities
- 1-2 years of experience using visual presentation tools for data, like Spotfire or PowerPivot
- 1-2 years of experience creating pixel-perfect reports in tools, like SSRS
- Prior use of stored procedures for reporting and processing business logic in MS-SQL, MySQL, or Oracle
- Understanding of using structured data, dimensional models or cubes and various forms of ETL for reporting
- Must have DB development and administration knowledge, great SQL skills, and ODBC and other data source connectivity experience
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to others in providing accurate information and presentation of findings and analysis
- 4-year degree in a field of business, applied computer science, computer science or CIS
- Development experiences with various databases and DBMSs especially MS-SQL and MySQL
- Proficient with data processing flowcharting techniques
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, constantly changing environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- 1-3 years of experience developing reporting within SQL Reporting Services or Tibco Spotfire
- Experience using the Agile methodology or Agile DW development

Experience creating reports and using the NetSuite SOAP API
