The position will support the loan
origination and loan acquisition process and will be exposed to a range
of commercial real estate investment strategies. The position plays a
critical role in supporting Relationship Managers in sourcing, analysis,
preliminary underwriting and closing of commercial loan opportunities.
Essential Functions:
Vacation/Sick: 19 days per year on PTO plan

- Assist in the analysis and due diligence of financing recommendations for investment committee
- Build and maintain loan and asset valuation and cash flow models using Excel and ARGUS
- Assist with managing the closing process
- Produce loan and asset-level reporting on a periodic basis
- Assist in periodic investment valuation and business plan processes
- Update and maintain various proprietary databases which track loan, asset, borrower, guarantor, insurance, tax and cost data to increase the accuracy of portfolio reporting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
- Very strong financial modeling skills and ability to concisely summarize data
- Proficiency in ARGUS a plus
- Commercial Loan Underwriting a plus
- High attention to detail in analytical assessments
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Real estate finance skills (valuation, analysis, operations, loan servicing, debt and/or equity)
- Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and balance workload
- Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision and the freedom to propose and implement creative solutions
- Flexible attitude with the ability to manage change effectively as the team grows
- Willingness to work hard and learn
- Maintain an engaging and solutions-based posture toward outside parties
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate or related field
- 1-3 years progressive work experience at a financial institution or commercial real estate firm. Preference for fast-paced commercial real estate fund, investment bank or private equity firm focused on commercial loan originations and commercial real estate.
- Working knowledge of ARGUS, DYNA or other real estate financial modeling tools and concepts such as DCF and NPV.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
