The Maintainability Specialist will be an advocate for our external customers and maintenance personnel to influence and optimize engine designs for enhanced maintenance and supportability. This individual will be responsible for providing technical leadership on assigned projects. They will provide cost studies, component removal studies, accessibility studies, and fault isolation support. This role will utilize experience / expertise to solve problems, develop objectives, and influence goals.
In addition, you will:
  • Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment
  • Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound Engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with Engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with Engineering policies and procedures
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 additional years of related technical experience)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering or a related technical discipline
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security or Secret Clearance

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to guide and influence others
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
  • Strong understanding of aircraft engine function, core hardware and external hardware (fuel system, oil system, air system)
  • Experience with engine maintenance activities and use of tooling and support equipment
  • Understanding of maintenance manual purpose and format
  • Experience with engine drawings and computer generated models
  • Broad aircraft engine experience and exposure
