The Power Lead Software Engineer will lead the development of Power Generation Embedded Software. The ideal candidate comes from an embedded software background, has team leading experience, and is enthusiastic to progress their career in a lead engineer role.
In addition you will:


  • Estimate, plan and execute qualifying software releases
  • Design, development and testing of embedded software applications
  • Track and task software issues to larger team
  • Be responsible for metrics tracking
  • Motivate and encourage the team under challenging targets
  • Be responsible for technical leadership and guidance
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Report project status to Engineering Project Manager and Line Manager
  • Coach, mentor and train of team members
  • Interface with Certification, Quality, Excellence, Sourcing, and other groups
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited College or university OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering
  • 5 years software engineering experience

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Excellent problem solving and solution building skills
  • Excellent communication skills to team, peers, and management
  • Full experience of the software lifecycle
  • Experience with the C and C++ programming languages
  • Experience in developing embedded software
  • Hands-on experience of software design lifecycle within Aviation
  • Experience of RTCA DO-178B or similar rigorous development standard
  • Power engineering domain experience
  • Demonstrable success achieving and exceeding internal and external customer expectations
  • Experience with model-based development including hardware-in-the-loop simulation
  • Experience with DOORS® Requirements Management Tools
