The Agile (T&M) Leader will rely upon a
broad technical and leadership background to drive the adoption /
implementation of world class software development tools and processes
across various GE businesses. This highly visible role will be
instrumental in elevating GE’s capability to rapidly deliver innovative
software. To effectively promote change, you will develop relationships
of trust and respect within the development and business teams.
In this role, you will:
Evaluate team quality, predictability, and efficiency
Be responsible for identifying and documenting those processes critical to software development within GE
Formalize and document the foundation of software development within GE
Work closely with the Learning and development team, these standards will be communicated throughout the development community
Assess the current state of a team and provide a complete
picture of the tools and processes employed throughout a team's
development ecosystem
Project management techniques, integration practices, and configuration management processes will be examined in detail
Ensure audits are conducted to ensure that teams continue
to use adopted tools and processes (Audits will be used as a form of
control to prevent regression off process performance)
Work with the team to identify the appropriate corrective actions to eliminate the issue
Implement preventative actions to ensure problems do not reoccur
Be expected to share knowledge to elevate the performance of others
Identify and create opportunities to develop the skills of supported teams
Be asked to embed within a team to serve as a Subject Matter Expert to accelerate progression of team maturity
Must develop the relationships required to maintain a
current understanding of the software being developed within Power &
Water
Form the basis for performance improvement opportunity
Become an expert in the strategies and offerings of the SW COE
Promote standardization and uniformity
Provide adherence to common platforms and technologies will reduced redundant effort and promote resource flexibility
Devote effort to remaining on the bleeding edge of software
development tools and processes. Evaluation and piloting will be used
to determine the applicability of these emerging options
Be expected to be engaged in the broader software
development community by attending and participating in conferences,
seminars, and white papers
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
Minimum of 10 years of experience developing and managing complex commercial applications through the full life-cycle
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and managing
software within an agile environment- promoting iterative and
incremental software development techniques
