We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with focus on Cloud development to solve real world problems. The SSE will work in a team made up of Software Engineers, Software Architects, and the Product Owner to lead the design, development, and delivery of high quality software in a fast paced with agile practices.
In this role, you will:


  • Demonstrate the design and challenges to address large-scale cloud-based development and deployment
  • Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts
  • Demonstrate the understanding of Agile software development lifecycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle
  • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding
  • Work closely with your peers and keep engaging in a fast pace technical design and development team
  • Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release goal
  • Must maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
  • Seek and provide feedback on design and development

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering OR “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Java programming languages

  • Ability and willingness to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required

  • Experience in large-scale software development
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles
  • Understanding of Cloud Development, Cloud Monitoring or using Cloud Elasticity API
  • Understanding of the Business Process Management concepts and the BPMN or BPEL specification
  • Understanding of the Web Technologies – HTTP protocol, HTML, CSS or Web Server
  • Experience in building cloud based services to manage caching, messaging, structured or unstructured data including optimizing large data ingestion
  • Experience architecting, coding or scaling large complex web applications
  • Experience in Java (including concurrency), REST or Web Services or other distributed technologies and architectures
  • Experience in utilizing Spring Framework, ORM with JPA or Hibernate
  • Experience with NoSQL solution such as MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Experience in using Maven for creating local build
  • Experience in creating Unix / Linux scripts
  • Experience in implementing Java OSGi modules or using an OSGi container
  • Experience in visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, or Spotfire
  • Experience in implementing Big Data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, map / reduce, Hive, PIG or HBase
  • Written functional test cases using JUnit (or other similar framework) or using mocking frameworks such as mockito for unit testing
  • Scala for Map / Reduce
  • Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulate specific technical topics or assignments
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
