Qualifications


Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college (not necessarily taking classes) and pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. Candidate is required to have completed at least 4 years of a 6 year PharmD program and have a strong interest in medical writing/drug information. Student must be available for 10-12 weeks from May/ June to August and have the ability to work full-time during that time. Candidate is required to have good verbal & communication skills. A minimum 3.0 GPA preferred. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred.

Timely closure of non-conformance reports. Independently evaluate and trend data; identify and communicate any potential issues. Independently troubleshoot analytical issues that may arise and conduct/document scientifically-sound, thorough laboratory investigations that will hold up to health authority scrutiny. Independently perform calibration and maintenance lab equipment, if required. Promptly take appropriate steps for resolution of instrument malfunctions or abnormalities. Train and mentor other analysts. Author lab SOPs and Work Instructions. Proficient in MS office and laboratory applications, e.g., Word, LIMS. Sense of urgency for project timeline and supply chain request. End to end project accountability. Assist supervisor/manager in establish priorities and guiding day to day operation of lab. Replace supervisor or team leader during holidays, sickness, etc with regard to operational activities. Support transformation to lean culture. Drive process improvements and lead projects related to the laboratory processes.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A focused degree in chemistry or biochemistry is preferred. A Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of 6 years of working experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry is required, including a minimum of 2 years in a Quality Control environment. Knowledge of current industry standards is required. Knowledge of cGMPs is required. Significant bio-analytical chemistry knowledge in a cGMP environment is preferred. Basic understanding of statistical principals is a plus. Knowledge of different IT systems (LIMS, Event Tracking, Change Control, etc) is a plus. This position requires good interpersonal, communication, presentation, networking, and project management skills.

This position is currently based in Raritan, NJ. After approximately 2 years this position is scheduled to move to the J&J facility in Manati, Puerto Rico.

Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Opportunities for the interns exist at our NJ facilities in the following groups:

Hematology-Oncology Therapeutic Area

The selected students will be working in this therapeutic area to gain experience and exposure in the Oncology drug developments with a goal to address the unmet medical need globally. The intern will assume a primary role in projects working either independently or as part of a team, as well as perform other activities that will support the policies and procedures of the area they are assigned to.

The summer interns will work with the assigned Regulatory Leader (RL) and/or Global Regulatory Leader (GRL)/Regulatory Professionals for regulatory activities for compounds in development and/or marketed products in the assigned portfolio within the Oncology TA.

They will be responsible for the critical review of submission documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. They will work with the RL/GRL/RP to understand the competitive landscape, e.g., views of HA, regulatory precedents, labeling differences and therapeutic area issues. Keeps abreast of current and pending approvals in specific therapeutic areas and is knowledgeable of laws, guidance’s and requirements related to those areas.

May provide input to Standard Operating Procedure documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Global Labeling Centre of Excellence

The interns will have the opportunity to learn and work on projects that cover the end-to-end labeling process throughout the product’s lifecycle -- from target labeling through CCDS, implementation and maintenance of the labeling and related packaging components that deliver comprehensive high quality, global labeling services to the therapeutic areas, established products, and regions and supporting affiliates

Position Responsibilities

Works on projects that will help develop analytical, audit, research, testing and validation skills.

Attend and participle in department meetings.

Develop and maintain documentation and forms.

Use Excel, Word, Project Management, or Visio to create correspondence, spreadsheets, forms, graphs, flowcharts, etc.

Provide customer service to the department’s internal and external customers.

Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, regulatory and legal requirements.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications


Candidates must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited pharmacy college throughout the duration of the internship (June to August 2014). Only students that are in their first or second professional years will be considered. Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred, but not required. Students must have the ability to work full-time during the session. A minimum GPA of 3.2 is preferred. Local travel may be required.

The Litigation Paralegal will act as a liaison between in house counsel, outside counsel and affiliate companies. Consult, assist, and coordinate with in-house counsel on all aspects of case management including conducting case assessments; respond to third party inquires and subpoenas; overseeing discovery responses, updates, and deadlines; gather and compile case materials; drafting and revising correspondence, and other litigation documents; interview clients for relevant case information. Duties specifically relating to discovery include overseeing collection of records and other information for dissemination to outside counsel; reviewing complaints/subpoenas to identify pertinent document categories to preserve; drafting and issuing document hold notices to proper entities; providing guidance to Records Managers; fielding inquiries from notice recipients; considering privilege issues; ensuring timely responses to discovery/subpoena demands; and ensuring appropriate timing for release of hold notices. Accept service of legal documents and ensure that proper service of legal documents has been effected for various corporate entities.

Qualifications


A minimum of an Associate's Degree or a Paralegal Certification is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of recent full time experience as a litigation paralegal is required. Experience with employment litigation, including responses to EEOC charges and the mediation process, is preferred. Experience with e-discovery is preferred. Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills are required. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required. The ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet time deadlines is required. Candidate must be a self-starter who is detail oriented, analytical, has strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. The Sourcing Manager will manage the RMC/PMC Procurement team in performing transformed processes in raw material supply management, in delivering quality & compliance initiatives, and in driving continuous process improvement initiatives. These initiatives include Supplier-Driven Change Management, Material Governance, CAPA Management, Supply Chain analysis, and specification alignment to improve the quality, compliance, and reliability of our materials/suppliers.

The Sourcing Manager, RMC/PMC will serve as the liaison between Product Development/Package Engineering and Procurement for Raw Material/Packaging Component Governance Process. This individual will collaborate with R&D/Engineering leaders to ensure the pipeline of new products are evaluated and supported with appropriate due diligence. This role is part of the Supplier Excellence Team and this individual will work closely with cross-functional teams within Supply Chain, QA, R&D and Strategic Sourcing to create a one-team culture and ensure effective integrated processes and robust communication mechanisms.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A focused degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years combined experience in Operations, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Research & Development, Sales, Planning, Finance, Marketing and/or Operational function is required. Previous consumer product industry experience is preferred. A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience utilizing Project Management practices is required. Previous experience with managing and developing direct reports is preferred.

Experience in strategic sourcing/procurement including experience in developing supply strategies is preferred. Strong negotiation skills are required. The ability to influence without authority is required. Strong Microsoft Office suite knowledge, specifically with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point is required.

The Litigation Paralegal will act as a liaison between in house counsel, outside counsel and affiliate companies. Duties specifically relating to discovery include overseeing collection of records and other information for dissemination to outside counsel; reviewing complaints/subpoenas to identify pertinent document categories to preserve; drafting and issuing document hold notices to proper entities; providing guidance to Records Managers; fielding inquiries from notice recipients; considering privilege issues; ensuring timely responses to discovery/subpoena demands; and ensuring appropriate timing for release of hold notices. Accept service of legal documents and ensure that proper service of legal documents has been effected for various corporate entities.

Qualifications


A minimum of an Associate's Degree or a Paralegal Certification is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of recent full time experience as a litigation paralegal is required. Experience with employment litigation, including responses to EEOC charges and the mediation process, is preferred. Experience with e-discovery is preferred. Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills are required. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required. The ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet time deadlines is required.
