Network Engineer

Job Location: Home Based, Mobile


As a Principal Network Engineer, you will deliver specific architecture, implementation and technical support skills, knowledge, and expertise to deliver robust Cloud solutions to customers worldwide.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote position and is open to multiple locations.

You bring 8+ years of best practice knowledge in the areas of routing and switching, ideally as it relates to Cloud architecture and solutions utilizing the Cisco suite of products. You will:




  • Architect, configure, layout and performance tuning of data center network infrastructure.


  • Execute necessary network and storage infrastructure maintenance as necessary.


  • Travel to various customer engagements.


  • Building data center network infrastructure, review and sign off on network build-outs, enforce network engineering standards to build and vendor teams


  • Create Method of Procedure (MOP) for network changes and deployments


  • Interface with project stakeholders provide network design and review to ensure quality of service delivery


  • Identify and resolve network impact issues


  • Perform other duties as required.



Required Technical Skills:
Your skills should include a significant subset of the following:




  • Extensive Cisco Router and Switch experience (GSR’s, 7000’s, Catalyst, etc)


  • Routing: BGP, OSPF, IPSEC and MPLS


  • Firewalls: Cisco ASA 5500, 1000V preferred


  • Load Balancers/GLSB: Riverbed, F5


  • Software/ Applications: Cisco UCS


  • NICE TO HAVE: Virtualization: VMWare ESX, Vmotion


  • NICE TO HAVE: Linux administration, scripting language experience (Perl, Bash, TCL, etc)


  • NICE TO HAVE - Storage : Atmos, DMX, VMAX, CX, VNX, etc


Education and Experience:




  • 8+ years of industry experience with increasing responsibilities and scope


  • Bachelor degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent combination of skills and experience


  • CCIE or other Cisco certification nice to have


  • VCP nice to have


  • EMCPA nice to have


  • Redhat or other UNIX certification nice to have
