We are seeking a creative, talented and knowledgeable designer capable of communicating with our customer and producing stunning, user-centric web/mobile interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- UI/UX work on all things digital including websites, ecommerce platforms, iOS Apps, mobile apps, Facebook apps, bespoke software, digital marketing campaigns etc
- Reviewing a projects functional specification, generating UI workflows and wireframes with associated UX and information architecture considerations
- Creation of tight, forward thinking, responsive and scalable front end designs
- Creation of fully responsive, accessible, meticulous HTML5/CSS3 templates using JavaScript/jQuery with cross browser or device specific
- Design of HTML5 and native OS mobile apps
- Working within a Lean/Agile project delivery culture
- Liaising with clients and other members of the team as needed
- Capable of gauging technical feasibility of the prototype.
- Able to explain his/her design philosophy verbally and in writing
- Engages with the business development team and/or customer early on to seek a deeper
- appreciation of the customers’ business problem/goals
- Presents high level designs/mock-ups to the customer for review/iteration/approval.
- Capable of working directly with customers in an iterative/agile manner to dramatically
- improve the prototypes in a short time
- Develops understanding of the end users of the website/application and be capable of generating user personas and user scenarios
- Overall responsibility for understanding a customer's brief and converting that into appealing, highly usable interfaces.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Formal education in interaction design (Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma)
- A minimum of 5 years of formal industry/professional experience as a web/mobile designer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript / JQuery/ Ajax
- Understanding the J2EE
- Solid portfolio demonstrating design savvy.
- Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory and typography.
- Strong understanding of mobile platforms, particularly iOS, Android and Windows Phone7.
- Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
- Candidate must absolutely be in sync with recent design standards and trends
- Considerable agency experience
- Client-facing role as a senior digital / website / UI / UX designer and front-end developer
- Proven track record of designing across various devices and platforms including; websites, ecommerce, mobile Apps, Facebook Apps, rich media etc
- Experience with 3rd party API’s e.g. including Google Services, Payment Providers and Social Network sites etc
- Experience with leading Content Management Systems (CMS), ecommerce platforms and similar software frameworks e.g. Drupal, Magento etc, is an asset
- WebServices experience with REST, SOAP, JSON and XML documents
- Experience with version control systems like SVN and GIT
- Conceptual understanding of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
- Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills. Capable of juggling multiple projects and related complexities at the same time.
