Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality Department (SQD)

Responsibilities
•Assure purchased products meet FMC’s requirements.
•Lead the overall SQD functions including issue containment and supplier corrective actions.
•Work directly with suppliers to dramatically improve overall part quality. Drive improvements to their overall quality systems.
•Drive issue resolution with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing.
•Oversee the supplier certification program. Ensure supplier report card process is in place. Generate appropriate performance metrics and drive resolution of issues.
•Develop and drive department projects such as reducing the need for incoming inspections, vendor to stock improvement, electronic certificates of compliance and parallel audit expansion.
•Supervise technical leaders in all facilities as well as supplier quality technicians.
•Travel to all facilities to review and enhance their effectiveness and capabilities.

Main Tasks
•Audit and Assessment Assuring audits are performed to assess the supplier’s processes and capabilities in order to qualify or disqualify the supplier as an approved source.
•Monitor Performance. Monitoring supplier quality performance. Product defects, delivery failures and other recorded incidents involving the supplier’s failure to meet requirements. Tracking Price of Non Conformance involving suppliers
•Corrective/Preventive Action. Working with supplier personnel to make sure root causes are determined and corrective/preventive actions are taken
•Supplier Quality Ranking and Development. Ranking and prioritizing suppliers for development

Requirements
•BS degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent.
•5+ years experience driving vendor to stock initiatives, supplier qualification programs and supplier process improvements.
•2+ years of demonstrated management or supervisory experience
•Track record of significant improvement in supplier component quality.
•Strong leadership, communication and computer skills.
•Technical knowledge of forging, heat treatment and machining processes..
•Experience leading and supervising others.
•ISO/API and other quality systems.
