REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report to our Matthews’ General Counsel.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Senior Attorney will be responsible for legal services delivered to Matthews’ internal clients, including portfolio managers, trading, marketing and client services, finance and other departments; support U.S. and foreign funds managed by Matthews, and support the firm’s subsidiaries and off-shore businesses. This position will support Matthews’ Compliance Department in interpreting and implementing U.S. and foreign legal and regulatory requirements. In addition, this position will work with, supervise and coordinate the work of outside counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•J.D. member of the bar and 5 years in legal practice in a law firm or in-house.
•Experience with the 1940 Advisers Act, 1934 Act, and securities regulation required.
•Experience with financial markets and foreign securities regulation desirable.
•Strength in analytical thinking and decision making.
•Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
•Client service-oriented.
•Results oriented, demonstrates initiative, hands-on, team player.
•Can-do, positive attitude, collaborative.
•Flexible, entrepreneurial, takes ownership and responsibility.
•Must be a U.S citizen or authorized to work in the U.S on a permanent basis
