Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies is currently seeking a New Product Development Project Manager in Los Angeles, CA.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and AVEENO®, as well as leading skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.

The New Product Development Project Manager will lead commercialization of new product introductions from end-to-end of the new product development process and implementation. This individual will lead and assist in preparing new product updates and Executive Communication at Franchise Decision Making forums.

The Project Manager will, with a considerable degree of autonomy, lead and manage cross-functional teams including Engineering, Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, Package Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Regulatory, Finance, National Planning, Sales and Logistics. Exposure will also extend to World Wide representation.

This Project Manager will extract from their strong business knowledge, technical skills and sound judgment to effectively assess risk, develop contingencies and determine when to elevate and how to communicate issues. This individual will utilize solid verbal and written communication skills to appropriately inform the organization and team members in a timely manner. The individual will additionally develop an in-depth understanding of product strategy, portfolio analytics, the supply chain, associated technologies of assigned products within their franchise to ensure sound decision making through design and development leading to reliable, cost effective supply. The Project Manager will implement Project Management dashboards, project metrics and lessons learned to improve business results as well as processes associated with the launch of new products in their franchise.

Qualifications


The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) is a plus. A minimum of 5 years combined experience in two or more of the following functional areas is required: Engineering, Research and Development, Sales, Planning, Finance, Marketing and/or Operational function. A demonstrated history of managing complexity is required. An individual with strong understanding of the commercial landscape and consumer product industry experience in a fast paced environment is preferred. A minimum of two years experience demonstrating and utilizing Project Management and Product Lifecycle Management practices is essential to this role. Experience managing a portfolio of projects using Microsoft Project is highly desired. It is preferred that this candidate have experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training and/or Certification. Project Management Training and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified experience is preferred.

This candidate should be a driven leader with excellent written, verbal and executive communication skills, organizational skills while possessing the ability to influence and constructively challenge cross-functional project teams and business partners to achieve project goals. The candidate will have a proven track record of meeting the project objectives by successfully managing, tracking and implementing successful strategies in regards to scope, quality, time and cost.

This position may require up to 20% travel domestically and internationally. The role is located in Los Angeles, CA.
