Responsible for driving work plans and providing technical direction to engineers dedicated to designing, developing and fixing automation infrastructure components, hardware management tools, and tool development. Manages engineers performing system design, virtualization efforts, and code development. Participates in long-range planning and integral in driving the automation and resource management discussion. Often plays a proactive role in developing and applying new approaches to engineering design and development. Participates in the modification, development and implementation of engineering practices and policies that affect the entire engineering organization. Responsible for establishing strategic roadmap for automation and tool development across several disciplines.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and provide challenging yet appropriate assignments, evaluates work, communicates progress toward career development and goals.
Manage requirements for legacy and forward facing technologies as part of the development effort.
Ensuring solid development practices and hygiene across the entire engineering organization.
Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs
Responsible for implementing operational and strategic policies and directives and for sharing information with related groups/projects.
Ensuring a scalable and maintainable architecture to carry the organization into the future.
Can reach appropriate resolution in many varied situations without damaging internal or external relationships.

SKILLS
Experience with Automation Frameworks
Experience with Unix style operating systems
Solid track record of project management and milestone scheduling
Python and C programming languages a plus
Experience in Filesystem or Networking a plus
