To lead VoLTE-related consulting efforts in strategy, planning, and architecture of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology and solutions for service providers around the world. The selected candidate should be able to lead the delivery of Consulting engagements on VoLTE as well as develop consulting offers, value propositions, migration strategies and solution architectures. They should also be able to collaborate with teams from System Integration and Product organizations within Ericsson to develop integrated solutions for service providers.
 
Perform competitive analysis (of service providers strategies as well as different technologies for supporting voice on 3G an 4G wireless networks), and develop business strategy (including services), migration plans, and solution architecture (including inter-working) for the introduction and deployment of VoLTE. Also participate in the delivery of the recommended VoLTE solution to service providers around the world.
 
  • Lead a team of consultants to support strategic opportunities arising from customers in Regions that are looking to deploy VoLTE on their networks or are looking for direction on how to support voice and rich communication services (RCS) on their network.
  • Develop a business strategy for supporting VoLTE, taking into account the service provider’s business environment, present mode of operation, alternative technology strategies, vendor product offerings, and maturity.
  • Develop solution architectures for VoLTE deployment based on Ericsson and 3rd party product offerings as well existing infrastructure on the service provider network.
  • Perform impact analysis of the recommended solution on the service provider’s network, services, handsets, and customer experience.
  • Develop a migration plan for network and subscribers to go from the service provider’s current voice environment to VoLTE.
  • Support development of technical requirements for VoLTE deployment
  • Provide guidance and input during the delivery of the solution to the SI and product teams.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • The successful candidate is expected to be well-versed in different technologies for supporting voice in 3G and 4G GSM and CDMA networks, including circuit switched fallback (CSFB), Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SR-VCC), and VoLTE. Hands-on experience with engineering these technologies on service provider networks or handsets is desirable.
  • Knowledge of product and solution offerings from Ericsson and other leading vendors for different voice technologies in 3G and 4G networks.
  • Knowledge of VoLTE handset offerings from leading handset manufacturers and their deployment around the world.
  • First-hand knowledge of deployment of these technologies on service provider networks including their pros and cons.
  • Requirements and impact of the different technologies on the handsets, including demands on processing, radio, and battery.
  • Familiarity with 3GPP standards and other implementation agreements for the deployment of the above mentioned technologies.
 
A scientific or technical degree is required. In general, candidates for this job would have the following levels of experience:
  • MS. or Ph.D. in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with over 7 years of experience in the area of Mobile Voice and Broadband.
  • At least two years experience in product development or service provider deployment of Mobile Voice or Broadband.
  • Any consulting experience in addition to these will be a significant plus
  • Background suitable for consulting and business development, such as developing offers, value propositions, business strategy, advisory services, etc., in the area of Mobile voice and broadband.
  • 50% travel required
