RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates the efforts of the team of employees responsible for processing engineering changes, establishing manufacturing bills of material, establishing manufacturing effective dates and the timely scheduling of material to the factory.   Oversees and coordinates priorities within each team and the efforts of the team. The team is responsible for the proper establishment of manufacturing effective dates, checking the timely receipt of records prepared by product design and preparing distribution and maintenance of this engineering data.  These teams check purchasing and materials records to determine receipt of related, manufacturing schedules, exhaust dates for superseded materials and effective dates to release product changes to production. Reviews and ensures the proper release of engineering information, exhausting of existing inventories and coordination with NPI Programs. Follows progress of major engineering releases and changes to resolve difficulties and provides guidance. 
 
Incumbent participates with product engineers to provide timely release and implementation of new models, major product updates and miscellaneous changes. Establishes priorities and coordinates the efforts of the change control team responsible for processing product changes, establishing manufacturing effective dates and scheduling of material to the factory. Follows progress of major releases and changes and provides guidance to resolve problems.
 
Incumbent establishes and maintains a close working relationship with personnel in other Product Change Control Groups (including other facilities), Purchasing, Material Requirements, and Manufacturing Operations to define need for new or improved product change control systems or processes. Maintains good communications with Corporate Information Services groups for awareness of technology improvements. Participates with Corporate Information Services to develop new systems or improve current ones.
 
Develops and conducts training to implement new systems or improvements throughout the product groups in a timely manner. Provides assistance during implementation to achieve consistent methods and verifies effectiveness of improvements through on-going feedback.

Incumbent provides on-going specialized expertise and consultation to several product change control groups regarding releasing practices. Provides guidance to the product group Releasing Specialists and Analysts to achieve required results in unusual situations.
 
Coordinates introduction of new product and engineering changes and provides management with the tools to monitor the overall progress and effectiveness of product programs. Participates in developing product timing strategies with NPI(New Product Introduction) teams for both product and process activities. Facilitates meetings to assure the impact and expediency of product changes or model introductions are properly monitored. Serves as an integral member of NPI teams to influence the timeliness of model effectivity and the impact on other programs.
 
Works with Operations, Purchasing and product groups to determine the logical source of supply for product components. Works with product groups and operations to expedite changes that impact product safety, liability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of an Associates Degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive responsibility job related experience in supply chain or manufacturing.
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to creatively solve complex problems.
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive the coordination of the engineering change process across multiple departments within a business division.
  • Understands company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge.
  • Manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of ERP systems, Product Change Control processes and procedures, and Manufacturing Engineering.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of SAP and (PFEP) plan for every part processes and procedures highly desired.
  •  
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC national Certification highly desired.
  •  
  • A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics is highly desired.
  •  
  • Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma Project Management principles.
