We have an excellent opportunity for Freight Forwarding Agents in Seattle.  If you have experience in Air Import, Air Export, you may be a good fit for this position.

Job description :

Arranges the movement of freight by various transportation methods, including Air, Ocean, and Ground, on behalf of exporters and importers for DHL's import, export, trans-border and domestic product lines. Serves as the single point of coordination (i.e. "freight forwarder") between customers, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

Responsibilities include:

    Preparing, issuing, and submitting documents necessary to complete the import or export process;
    Ensuring service commitments are achieved and maintained in accordance with client and company objectives;
    Ensuring that the quality system is implemented and maintained within area of responsibility;
    Providing clients with advice concerning terms of delivery, payment, insurance and all other services affecting their needs;  and
    Ensuring invoicing of rendered services is completed accurately and in a timeframe consistent with company policy.

Knowledge and Skills:

    Strong customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
    Strong keyboard capability and familiarity with basic accounting principles
    Resourcefulness and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and change routine as needed
    Understanding of the US Automated Export System (AES) and US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) procedures or US Customs and Border Protection Automated Manifest System (AMS)

Key Requirements:

    Generally 1-3 years of relevant freight forwarding experience (air or ocean, import or export)
    HS diploma or GED required
    Certification in Dangerous Goods FMC is a plus
