Finance Supervisor

Job Location: Hopkinton, MA

General Summary

EMC has an exciting and challenging opportunity for the position of Financial Analyst on our Global Revenue Assurance team located at our Pleasanton, CA campus. As a member of the EMC Corporate Finance Team, this position is responsible for reviewing sales transactions and establishing the related revenue recognition consistent with internal policies and with U.S. GAAP.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with various departments to assist with structuring and reviewing contracts prior to presentation to the customer for signature
• Responsible for ensuring all software revenue transactions are reviewed, documented and accounted for in compliance with EMC’s Revenue Recognition Policy, SOP 97-2 and US GAAP
• Work collaboratively with cross functional teams and Corporate Finance to align with the corporate vision
• Work closely with peers and management within the Global Revenue Assurance team to support timely and accurate quarter end close activities

• Ability to understand and interpret contract language
• Ability to identify key risk areas, contemplate alternatives, draw conclusions and recommend and implement changes to mitigate any risk to EMC
• Ability to effectively use accounting knowledge in collaboration with others to drive sound business decisions
• Ability to set and achieve individual goals consistent with and supportive of the immediate organization and overall goals of the Finance organization
• Understanding of business operations and ability to improve processes
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
Education Required:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred
Experience Required:
5-7 years in Accounting or Finance at a large and/or high tech company preferred
