What You'll Do/Need
The External Staff Appraiser maintains and improves the company’s appraisal quality and production. By using their expertise, they’ll work with fellow team members to estimate property values and review appraisal reports.

Responsibilities
  • Estimate property values by providing appraisals on 1-4 unit residential properties
  • Research and analyze property information by reconciling various indicators by preparing an appraisal report
  • Ensure appraisals are procured, documented and processed in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, requirements and company regulations
  • Maintain licenses or state certifications to perform the duties of an appraiser and notify the company of any changes in the status of their licenses or state certifications
  • Analyze data, draw sound conclusions and summarize results in a clear and coherent fashion
  • Review appraisal reports of outside fee vendors for efficacy of their value-conclusions, adherence to technical appraisal theory
  • Assist the VP of Collateral Risk and Chief Appraiser with ongoing audits
Requirements
  • Must be certified residential and FHA approved
  • Renew licensure/state certification no less than 90 days prior to promulgate expiration date
  • At least five years of direct field experience as a licensed/certified appraiser
  • Proficiency with all appraisal types
  • Knowledge of GSE, FHA guidelines and HVCC
  • Ability to work out of one’s home with appropriate equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
