SUMMARY:

Sales position to specialize in selling a sophisticated quantitative/fundamental large cap product into the institutional market, including consultants and key platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop institutional relationships with consultants and key broker/dealer, retirement, and other platforms to sell Baird’s large cap product, which includes the fund and separately managed accounts. Management of the large cap product has recently been switched to a portfolio manager with a history of success in managing quantitative products. Success will be judged initially on the ability to generate meetings for the new PM. Intermediate to longer-term success will be based on new assets added and retained/maintained.
2. Develop a deep understanding of the product and a strong relationship with the PM. A value-added sale and ability to advance deep client and intermediary relationships are expected.
3. Document calling efforts and individual meeting summaries. Participate in weekly sales reviews. Strong client profile development is essential.
4. Research, write and distribute a monthly summary of the portfolio, including current thoughts, key changes and an overview of what’s working and what is not working. Also, create, maintain and market a quarterly client/PM conference call.
5. Research and write responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs). Act as the point for all contracts, including interfacing with legal, risk management and business heads to achieve an acceptable contract for all parties that includes protecting Baird’s interests.
6. Develop a business plan for the first 1 and 3 years to illustrate key channel and client targets, expected meeting and activity levels and an asset build goal. Articulate servicing plan.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to take complex issues and distill them to key points. A high level of professionalism is mandatory.
2. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented individual with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
3. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or CFA track preferred) and 5+ years institutional sales experience minimum (financial services). Access to existing relationships is essential.
4. Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
5. Series 7 and 66 licenses required
