Description

As an resident Implementation Engineer you will reside on-site at the customer’s location performing installation and operations based activities at one of Sandvine’s key accounts in the Long Island, NY, USA.  You’ll use your excellent attention to detail and investigative skills to monitor, identify and lead to resolution potential issues on a high availability production environment while also communicating the features and benefits of Sandvine solutions.  Issues that are outside of your knowledge domain will be escalated to Sandvine’s customer support for further investigation while you play a key role in communicating status updates to the customer and scheduling further investigation activities as require until resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Install/change/move existing Sandvine devices.
  • General service as required including installation of software maintenance updates for all devices and solutions
  • Daily monitoring of system health, KPIs, logs, alarms
  • Daily routine maintenance as required
  • Complete or coordinate maintenance window activities
  • Work within customers change management and maintenance window guidelines
  • Regression test in lab for each maintenance or minor releases
  • Application backup for configuration files and monitoring of backup database where applicable
  • Submitting and escalation of requests into Sandvine HQ support
  • Sandvine product inventory management

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 year experience in a technical role.
  • Degree or diploma from a technical institute
  • Hands-on Unix experience (BSD/Linux/Solaris)
  • Technical background with a strong understanding of networking (specifically IP related technologies)
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and/or operation of network equipment such as Cisco, Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers – a valuable asset
  • Excellent troubleshooting, investigative, and communications skills
  • Experience with programming and/or scripting, SQL databases, network traffic monitoring, or firewall technologies – especially in a Telecom, ISP, or Cable Internet environment – a valuable asset
  • Experience in a technical product lab setting or operational network environment – a valuable asset
