Description:
• As a Technical Architect, you will provide customer facing implementation services to new and existing SAS customers, as well as develop enablement and implementation assets for SAS consultants.  You are expected to have a broad and strong technical background and should excel at solving business problems by applying technology.  You will be supporting the SAS Supply Chain and Manufacturing Solutions.  In addition, you may be required to build software tools, support the sales process by conducting proof activities, or provide support to other areas of the organization as needed.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Implementing SAS software applications as required by the specific customer situation
• Involvement in all phases of the implementation including requirements, architecture/design, installation, development, testing and training
• Evaluating customer requirements and compiling design documentation as well as architecting solutions to ensure successful customer implementations
• Facilitating workshops to gather requirements and assess gaps in requirements or level of detail required to properly scope and plan implementations
• Providing reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, products and technologies
• Assisting in scoping and defining work efforts, resource plans, and estimating cost on phases/projects
• Preparing and presenting materials for site visits, project work, and training services.
• Providing input to project team to define scope and work effort for assigned tasks; and other duties, as assigned
• Implementing prototypes/demos for use in sales situations and site visits
• Developing and maintaining internal applications and tools
• Reviewing and editing documentation for consulting projects, the Education Division and other divisions as needed
• Design and implement prototypes for use in pre-sales activities
• Developing implementation scoping methodologies and approaches
• Support launch of new Supply Chain and Manufacturing solutions, including interfacing with R&D, Product Management, Product Marketing, Tech Support, and other groups
• Creating best practice documents for implementing SAS solutions
• Developing and conducting Consulting Implementation Bootcamps globally 

Qualifications

 
Essential

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, or related field
• Five years of technical consulting, business analysis and/or applications development, preferably within the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Domain
• Knowledge of SAS foundation technologies, platform architecture and tools.
• Experience delivering SAS PAM, SAS QLA, SAS WA or other SAS vertical solutions.
• Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion, (Approximately 35-40%)

Essential Equivalent

• Experience in Supply Chain and Manufacturing business operations.
• Experience working with asset maintenance, quality management and service processes.
• Working knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools
• Working knowledge of ETL, dimensional data modeling/star schemas and Data Quality strategies and best practices
 • Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, Db2, SQL Server or Teradata
• Working knowledge of object oriented programming using a third or fourth generation language, preferably in technology areas such as application development, client/server, database management systems, data warehousing, or web enablement
• Experience with architecting SAS systems and implementing complex installations within customer environments

Additional

• Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with users with various technical backgrounds
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Experience with SAS 9.4, SAS 9.3, SAS 9.2 and/or SAS 9.1.3 Platform
• Experience with data warehousing and/or business intelligence implementations
• Excellent working knowledge of both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
• Should have good understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts and best practices
• Superior problem solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Strong facilitation and communications skills.
• Ability to conceptualize clients’ needs and translate into specific implementation strategies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to compile project artifacts such as requirements and design documentation as well as estimate project effort and durations

Preferences

• Experience with Predictive Asset Maintenance (PAM), Quality Lifecycle Analysis (QLA) and Warranty Analysis (WA) systems and solutions
• Experience within a specific business domain related to Supply Chain or Manufacturing
• Public speaking experience such as presenting papers or classroom teaching
• Data warehousing experience using Base SAS to load Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, Teradata
• Business Intelligence experience using SAS BI Platform Technologies and VA
• Experience with web technologies such as JAVA , Web Services, AJAX, Javascript, HTML and XML
• Knowledge of statistics or analytical modeling
• Preferred location: Cary, NC, US
