Description
As
a Technical Support Analyst, you will provide direct technical support
to SAS/ACCESS, SQL procedure, and SAS Scoring Accelerator customers.
Strong candidates for this position should possess a strong appetite and
ability to learn in a fast paced environment. The right candidate
should have experience with multiple computing platforms as well as
knowledge of database management systems and connectivity.
Your duties will include:
providing necessary support to SAS software users via phone and email,
acting as a resource for users; determining the nature of user problems
and referring calls to appropriate consultants; reviewing information
using on-line technical support systems, writing problem descriptions,
answering questions via technical support electronic systems; and
performing other duties as assigned. Additionally, you may be tasked
with recording and managing confirmed software bugs; providing product
feedback to development and marketing; providing both formal and
informal training to technical support; participating in special
projects; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Essential
• Bachelor's/Associate's degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 2 years of programming experience
• Experience with Unix and Windows operating systems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to resolve user problems through a combination of independent study, investigative programming, and collaborative efforts with team members
• Ability to work with people of widely varied technical backgrounds
• Ability to assimilate technical material and handle deadlines in a multitasking environment
• Ability to travel on an infrequent basis
Preferences
• Technical support experience supporting complex software
• SAS support experience or SAS programming experience
• SAS/ACCESS and/or PROC SQL experience
• Knowledge of SQL and Open database connectivity (ODBC) standards on the Unix operating system
