SUMMARY:
The Bakery Team Trainer works with the Training team, Store Team Leadership, Green Mission Reps and Team Members to ensure that the store is meeting and exceeding regional’s training goals. This includes developing programs and systems, tracking success and reporting to the Metro/Store Trainer as required; participating in bi-monthly meetings and energizing team members to be educators in their departments and in the store.
DUTIES:
  • Excite and delight Team members and guests alike though product knowledge.
  • Set the standard for legendary guest service.
  • Drive legendary guest service.
  • Work the first scheduled shift with New Members.
  • Conduct a department tour for New Members that includes going over applicable product knowledge.
  • Motivate and mentor New Members during the first 90 days in their position through continual interaction with the New Members.
  • Communicate the progress of New Members to store leadership and Team Member Services.
  • Assist leadership and specialist in driving sales through effective training and communication.
  • Train New Members on team specific duties.
  • Educate Team Members in quality standards.
  • Ensure quality and consistent products are offered to our guests through effective training of recipes and procedures.
  • Facilitate equipment/safety training to all Team Members and instill and maintain a "Safety Culture" on the team.
  • Ensure all Team Members are trained on any new practices, processes, procedures and/or products.
  • Help provide creative, innovative and effective team-specific training.
  • Update all documents to current practices Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to create new training programs, strong training presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to train team members on register.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to train and mentor Bakery Team Member
  • Ability to knowledgeably communicate standards and articulate procedures and the job should be done.
  • Strong perishable operations knowledge.
  • Previous retail training experience within Whole Foods Market, or other the food retail or grocery industries.
  • Strong knowledge of both front and back of the house bakery operations.
  • Positive self-directed attitude.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and organize productive and successful Team Member specific training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
