Description
The product management and strategy team is responsible for developing a holistic strategy for Global Commercial Services(GCS)’ information products based on GCS’ capabilities, resources, and corporate client needs as well as developing and implementing a go-to-market plan and ultimately managing these products once launched. In this role, the person will partner very closely with GCS’s account development, marketing, new product development, and Field Enablement teams as well as the RIM / Big Data team and various other support groups to conceptualize and manage new products for GCS. This individual will have responsibilities for key insights products – from conception to management. This includes:
- Working with the business team and our technical partners to identify customer needs and opportunities
- Identifying relevant data assets and capabilities which can meet those needs and opportunities, and then working with American Express Technologies our external vendors to build and launch these new products
- Drive GCS Information products’ marketing, pricing, and distribution strategies
-This role will play an integral part in our ongoing success in the data-based insight space.     

Qualifications

This person must meet the following required qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the world of data and data technologies, including UX/UI
- Experience with managing product portfolios – if possible information/tech products - and working with working on designing products, developing go-to-market plans (in B2B a plus) – including working closely with marketing, field enablement and account management teams
- Strong judgment of customer and business needs to deliver profitable growth
- Creative strategic thinker with excellent thought leadership and strategic approach to problem solving skills (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of actionable recommendations) – consulting firm experience a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Great at building relationship with internal and external business partners with the ability to advise and influence senior executives. Proven ability to collaborate and demonstrate genuine teamwork within and outside the current organizations, navigate and manage the matrix
- Ability to operate autonomously and make complex decisions – including prioritization trade-offs -- in situations of ambiguity and time pressure, using sound judgment and analytical skills
- Able to effectively hire, lead, and develop direct reports through technical and leadership guidance
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment.
