Description
This position will report to the Manager of the Loyalty Edge Payments and Accounting Team in Global Operations Accounting. Loyalty Edge is an existing revenue generating program within Enterprise Growth wherein the business sells a complete loyalty program to external clients. This role will support the key business drivers of GOA; payments, accounting, reconciliation, sales & use tax file prep and invoicing. Over time this position will support the business growth initiatives by representing the team on new product launches and other projects such as changes to existing portfolios. To be successful in this role, the right candidate should possess a strong desire to succeed, be very diligent with a strong attention to details and have a broad understanding of loyalty programs, Amex systems and proven ability to be a team player.

Processing responsibilities include payments, reconciliations, month end accounting, sales and use tax files and client invoicing.
* Project responsibilities include representing the team on new product launches, changes to existing products and system change design initiatives.
* Personal responsibilities include creating and delivering on development plan items, completing all mandatory trainings by the assigned deadlines, participating in Team or Department EEAT initiatives and supporting overall team goals / metrics to continue to achieve best in class service.

Qualifications

* 5+ years of professional accounting experience and/or BS/BA in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or related field (BS/BA preferred)
* Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, system and manual process controls, compliance measures (such as spreadsheet control), rewards/loyalty programs and experience with SOX, OASIS, Microstrategy, Microsoft tools, Sharepoint and Oracle GL.
* Strong communication skills and an ability to influence others without direct authority is desired.
* Team player who works well with others, with proven track record of performance (such as EEAT initiatives, cross team supporting roles, Business Partner recognition).
* Must be flexible, able to work autonomously, able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and provide accurate updates to various levels of leadership as needed.
* Demonstrated ability to drive results, influence change in a process and bring thought leadership to resolve inquiries from both internal and external business partners.
