Our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Advisory Services team is fully integrated both within our wider TAS practice and our firm as a whole - over 167,000 people in more than 150 countries worldwide - and our clients reap the benefits of this broad range of knowledge, skills and experience. The M&A Advisory Services practice provides clients with unbiased strategic advice surrounding corporate finance and strategic alternatives through highly focused industry teams with world class, global execution capabilities. Our industry teams understand the specific competitive environments in which our clients operate. We work on the basis of creating long-term relationships with our clients and our teams work closely with them to understand their short and long-term goals - being there at every stage to identify potential risks and exploit opportunities. Certain M&A services are offered through our affiliate, Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, LLC (a broker-dealer affiliate of Ernst & Young LLP and a member of FINRA).
 
Our continued success has propelled rapid growth in our M&A Advisory Services team. We have ambitious plans and we are seeking high performing, experienced investment banking professionals. We currently have a career opportunity for a Vice President in our industrials industry vertical.
 
Responsibilities
Advise companies regarding strategic and corporate finance alternatives, including performing the following:
  • Work with Analysts and Associates to prepare compelling pitch books, offering / descriptive memoranda and related materials for M&A and capital raising mandates
  • Solicit prospective investors and buyers for M&A and capital raising mandates
  • Identify business development opportunities through internal and external client relationships
  • Active involvement in client meetings
  • Extensive financial analysis, valuation analysis and pro forma financial modeling
  • Identify key issues and potential areas of valuation and transaction risk
  •  In-depth industrials industry, market and company-specific research
  • Supervise, coach and mentor Analysts and Associates
  • Prepare / define the scope of work, clear conflicts, prepare budgets and set staffing plans
  
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
  • a minimum of 4 years of experience working with clients in the industrials industry
  • a minimum of 4 years of investment banking experience
  • extremely strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
  • a dedication to teamwork
  • a willingness to work weekends, holidays and 100 hours per week, as necessary
  • a willingness and ability to travel as necessary - up to 30%
  • demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • existing Series 7 and/or 79 plus Series 63 securities licenses (in good standing)
