The Position

TheCross-BioOncology Franchise Training Manager/Senior Training Manager will be responsible forleading initiatives in two main areas: Selling Skills and DSM Development. Approximately 50% of time will be spent on developing selling skills trainingaimed at enhancing competitive selling effectiveness across the BioOncologybusiness unit.  The remainder of the timewill be spent on management development initiatives to deliver programs thatenhance the performance of our BioOncology field management teams. Because thisis a new role and is aligned to the newly formed Cross BioOncology Franchise,the candidate will need to possess strong critical thinking skills in order toidentify the needs of the BioOncology sales organization.  In addition, they will need to possesexcellent communication skills and be capable of collaborating across theorganization in order to ensure that effective training is initiated and pulledthrough.  Candidates should have verystrong selling backgrounds and/or field management experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Initiate, develop and provide selling skills training that enhancesthe field force’s ability to effectively communicate with customers in acompetitive and value-added manner. 
  • Initiate, develop and provide field management traininginitiatives that are aimed at making our field managers better coaches andleaders.
  • Collaborate within Commercial Training & Development (CT&D) to ensure consistency and avoidredundancy of training.
  • Collaborate across the organization with key stakeholders,including the Cross BioOncology Franchise, Brand Marketing teams, SalesManagement, Medical Communications, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, and others toensure quality, compliant training is being implemented. 
  • Establish goals and learning objectives to designappropriate and effective curriculum by leveraging instructional design and adultlearning principles.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of training productsand programs such as classes, workshops, learning modules, poster books, andother job aids and materials for distribution to CT&D customers and programparticipants.
  • Facilitate workshops and training classes
  • Designs and implements metrics to measure training programsand products impact, effectiveness and utility.
  • Perform role in such a way as to ensure on-time, on-target,and on-budget delivery
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies that governthe conduct of Genentech activities

Who You Are

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CORE COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors’ degree required 
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 2 years of Oncology sales experience required
  • Field Management experience preferred
