Application Architect I - ETL Development Lead (Job Number: 1315557)

Description

This is a key role is on a critical project to build a product to deliver timely and accurate information to clients through best practice application / data architecture and support processes as well as to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and increase controls.

The objectives are to:

• Create a common Finance data supply chain
• Automate manual interfaces to reduce manual journal entries / labor required
• Apply accounting rules to inbound interfaces to improve data quality and controls (Accounting Rules Engine)
• Deliver a data store of detailed finance data that is reconciled to the GL to reduce current manual effort required to cleanse and assimilate data into required reports

The job holder

• is responsible for the functional design and architecture of application systems across all technologies and platforms
• translates user requirements to process and data requirements, designs technical solution for applications
• implements ETL programs utilizing Informatica
• helps resolve high impact system problems affecting primary application or across multiple platforms
• monitors the status of resources and performs routine testing, documents testing results and analyzes infrastructure problems

The Accounting Rules Engine (ARE) processes are highly dynamic and data driven, with the execution logic governed by previously configured processing rules specifications stored in the data repository. Therefore, the job holder will:

• design, develop and modify interfaces between the Accounting Rules Engine and related data store
• design, develop and modify ETL used within the Accounting Rules Engine and supporting modules to develop PeopleSoft GL summary entries and post to the General Ledger and to the related data store
• manage day to day activities associated with building out and maintaining the Accounting Rules Engine and supporting modules (Rules Reference Facility, Manual Adjustment Facility, posting process)

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience required.
• Job holder must:




• have knowledge of organizations total computing environment, including existing technology infrastructure, all major IT departments roles, responsibilities, daily operations and business impact
• be knowledgeable about all major toolkits for a specific platform and have previously evaluated and recommended delivery tools and platforms
• be experienced in developing, maintaining and utilizing information repositories and have prior experience defining operational standards for managing information assets
• be an effective oral and written communicator who is experienced in preparing and delivering informational and decision-seeking presentations to individuals or groups, internally or externally.
• be knowledgeable in all phases of a consulting relationship


• Specific role experience and skills include:




• Experience with ETL Informatica programming is required; Experience with Oracle data access is preferred
• Technical lead with full Software Development SDLC lifecycle experience in a corporate environment is required
• Experience in Financial Accounting data processing is desired (PeopleSoft GL knowledge a plus)
• Experience with Configuration/Data Driven Dynamic data processing using ETL is preferred;
• Experience with high volume low latency highly parallel multi-stage data processing is desired
• Familiarity with project management and requirements facilitation techniques
