Major bank has an opening on its COSO team for a highly motivated individual to be a subject matter expert on process and control related matters.
This major bank has an opening in its Charlotte office for an experienced accountant to maintain expert level knowledge of 2012 COSO framework and process and control authoritative guidance (SEC speeches, AS/5, PCAOB publications). (This position could also be located in Minneapolis.) The successful candidate will also maintain working knowledge of the contents of the bank's 10Q and 10K.
Other duties include: 1) partnering with process owners to evaluate and document the severity of identified control deficiencies and related remediation plans  2) acting as a liaison with lines of business to identify and evaluate control deficiency trends impacting SEC reporting critical analysis of control breakdowns 3)preparing and/or reviewing communications to external and internal audit 4)partner with external auditor to identify new and emerging control issues and regulator expectations and 5) provide process and control support for Corporate Finance sponsored projects, including implementation of 2013 COSO framework.
Candidates must have 7+ years accounting experience, with 5+ years experience in public accounting or financial services.  They must have strong knowledge of the COSO framework and working knowledge of financial reports filed with the SEC (10k and 10q).  In addition they must have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and prioritization skills.
Preferred skills include 1) BA/BS in accounting 2)CPA  3) Big 4 experience 4) experience evaluating control deficiencies and related remediation activities and 5) experience with large financial institutions.
