| Job description |
The Technical Delivery Services Center will provide maintenance
and monitoring of computer hardware and software systems to IBM’s
business clients. This center will primarily support US Strategic
outsourcing clients, providing server systems operations, security
services, including maintenance and monitoring of computer systems.
IBM’s Technical Delivery Services Center is focused on increasing
delivery quality and brings together all of IBM's worldwide service
delivery capabilities for Strategic Outsourcing.
This
position is located onsite in Boulder, CO and no remote work is
available for these positions. IBM is seeking Technical Support
Specialists (systems programmers) responsible for providing support for
problem and change tickets and/or project tasks for server support
operations surrounding the DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) infrastructure.
Incumbent assesses situation to determine problem facing the client.
Problems are not routine or standardized and the creation of
documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required.
Responsible for providing day to day support and implementing changes to
the client’s environment. Project tasks range in complexity from
standardized tasks that require following a set of repeatable steps to
non-standard problems that require unique solutions. Processes for
routine project work are created and improvements to the routine
processes may be identified and implemented. Pager coverage and
off-shift coverage would be required.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Support problem and change tickets for server support operations for
work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to
hardware, software, applications or network systems. These tasks are not
standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to
resolve. Interaction with other teams is often required to solve issues.
Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts
within a team while providing coaching and mentoring to the junior team
members. This may require creating documentation or scripts that can be
used to solve the same problem in the future.
Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) base software installs and upgrades
without assistance. Support project tasks for server support operations
for service requests and non-ticketed work to client operating systems,
hardware, software, applications or network systems. The work ranges
from routine project work and sets of tasks to non-standard problems.
Project pool job roles involve responsibility for accomplishing project
work from multiple clients, including planned work projects focused on
identifying and introducing improvements within a work area or process.
Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on
team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive
trouble-shooting input / advice from other team members. They may also
discuss team performance trends. Team members may also separately
interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) related product installs and upgrades without assistance.
Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) security compliance corrections without assistance.

Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 3 years experience in day-to-day DB2 systems programming support
- At least 3 years experience in install, troubleshoot, test, plan and configure DB2 systems
- At least 3 years experience in install, troubleshoot, test, plan and configure DB2 program products
- English: Fluent

Preferred
- Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
- At least 5 years experience in day-to-day DB2 systems programming support
- At least 5 years experience in install, troubleshoot, test, plan and configure DB2 systems
