PEAK6 Investments is currently seeking a self-directed and motivated Data Developer to join the PEAK6 technology team. The candidate will work in the design, development, and support of data processes on multiple platforms. The role involves working with development team and business users to deliver, maintain, and expand data availability as well as enhance business intelligence solutions and reporting functionality. The ideal candidate will consider themselves a Data Guru, comfortable working with and growing their knowledge around all things Data. Key Skills & Responsibilities:
• Design, implement and maintain database solutions
• Contribute to the creation of technical design based on business requirements
• Identify and define development best practices and standards
• Documentation of all processes
• Support legacy processes and replace with improved solutions
• Automate manual processes where ever possible
Job Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of SQL including database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments
• Some experience working with object-oriented languages
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent education and work experience is required
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in the Financial Industry
• Experienced with any BI tool experience (e.g. Cognos, Microsoft OLAP/SSAS, etc.)
• Experience writing ETL processes
