Description
PURPOSE
Responsible for the dual role of development, execution and
management of all Corporate digital and social media strategy and
programs, and for comparable strategy and programs for customer-facing
accounts to ensure world-class quality and industry leading innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop strategy and oversee the execution of all digital
and social media programs and services for Quintiles and for Quintiles
Communications’ customer-facing digital properties, including websites,
social media, digital media buying, rich media development and analytics
· Prepare and administer digital strategy and budget
· Interface with internal IT constituency to develop and
secure funding for digital programs that are aligned with corporate and
customer business objectives, technical requirements and infrastructure
· Interface and provide counsel to other multiple internal
constituencies, including business unit leadership, business
development, marketing and shared resources groups (e.g., HR) on digital
strategies that drive preference and reputation, engage stakeholders
and demonstrate corporation leadership
· Select and manage digital strategy, design and management vendors
· Develop and deploy digital policies, procedures and
guidelines to govern activities in accordance with company and customer
requirements, and digital best practices
· Develop and disseminate data and analytics that inform
constituencies of the success of digital strategies and properties
· Represent Quintiles Communications’ digital solutions as required in customer meetings and proposals
· Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies
and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning,
assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding
professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approves
actions on human resources matters

Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Demonstrated knowledge of developing and executing
digital and social media strategies, and in managing multiple digital
properties, including defining and communicating analytics
· Proven experience in interacting with and influencing
high-level executives and other managers across global service groups;
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
coworkers, managers and clients
· Experience in creating and managing large budgets
· Demonstrated success in using digital and social media
strategies to drive engagement with internal and external constituencies
· Experience in digital marketing including digital campaigns
· Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and health care environment
· Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams effectively, including selecting and managing external vendors
· Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
· Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
· Superior communication, planning and organizational skills
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in business, communication, computer science or related
field and 15 years of corporate level experience in digital/IT
management, communication/marketing. In addition, 3-5 years direct line
management experience or the equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.
· Extensive use of writing and keyboarding requiring repetitive motion of fingers
· Regular sitting for extended periods of time
· 24/7 access in the event of Web site failures or periods of crisis management
· Occasional travel
