GE Software is seeking a Solutions Architect to play a key role as a recognized subject matter expert, thought leader, and technology leader with deep expertise in the Healthcare domain. The Solution Architect is a hands-on role within our team – you must be able to understand what is needed for the business, craft a technical architecture that meets or exceeds those needs, and work directly with the engineering team to bring the architecture to life in code.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in technology and business solutions (Healthcare domain experience is very relevant as this role focuses on Healthcare initiatives), designing solution architectures, creating multi-phased, complex migration strategies that address technology innovation, understand complex IT and business problems, and applying technology and solution portfolio knowledge to drive innovation and new business opportunities.
In this role, you will:
  • Understand the business requirements and provide technical architecture, aligned with the GE Software Reference Architectures
  • Take a consultative approach to develop, present and explain the value and vision of proposed business solutions to customers and GE business teams
  • Provide leadership to developers in designing and developing software modules as per the defined architecture
  • Be the leading expert in domain and technologies relevant to the business solution
  • Provide prototypes and implementations of modules for complex or key areas of the architecture as starting points to rest of the team
  • Educate the business and act as the champion for GE reference architectures and adoption of innovative technologies within GE businesses
  • Work closely with platform teams to bring learning’s from the businesses to improve the platform.
  • Help businesses in achieving their goals in solution delivery with quality
  • Provide direction and guidance to the business in discovering the new solutions and set objectives, and to produce plans, roadmaps, and methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on development experience in software or web developmentEligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA.
  • Must be willing to travel.

  • Healthcare solutions domain expert and visionary with technical leadership skills and a demonstrated record of delivery
  • Extensive experience in Java enterprise development technologies, such as Spring, JMS, CXF, OSGi, Camel etc
  • Proven experience and understanding of multi-tier application development in enterprise and consumer environment
  • Delivery oriented thinker with insight into industry evolution, and experience with customer environments
