Job Summary
The
USB Connectivity Compliance QA Team is looking for an experienced
software and hardware, Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer, to help lead
testing efforts on our exciting iOS and iPod product lines. This is your

Key Qualifications
- 2+ years quality assurance experience
- Previous experience with engineering product bring up and release.
- Understanding of computer architecture and how hardware, firmware, operating systems and user applications work together.
- Experience in hardware quality assurance, using mixed signal oscilloscopes to gather standard high speed electrical eye diagrams for consumer electronics.
- Experience qualifying and testing hardware, operating system and software abstraction layer and interaction
- Expertise testing with Windows Operating Systems and experience with qualifying Windows HW/SW drivers.
- Knowledge of high speed bus device testing HS (USB 2.0) and SS (USB 3.0)
- Knowledge of USB triggering and analysis tools
- Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
Description
A
successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced,
collaborative environment, developing and fostering partnerships with
cross-functional teams. The person filling this position must be a
hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated Engineer, with an understanding of
USB interconnect, at both hardware and software layers. The ideal
candidate is comfortable using industry standard tools to debug USB
hardware and software issues and has the ability to adjust to internal
compliance standards. In addition, the candidate will assist with some
iPod desktop integration quality testing.
As a Sr. Software Quality Engineer for the USB Connectivity Compliance
QA team, your contributions will include the following:
- Qualify iOS product line for USB compliance, using standard tools such
as USBIF-CV, WHQL and/or WHCK
- Qualify iOS product line using USB compliance hardware standard tools.
such as mixed signal oscilloscopes and USB bus analyzers.
- Represent USB QA in meetings and discussions, across the organization.
- Assist in the definition and identification of test tools to
streamline testing. Help expand test harness.
- Work closely with hardware and software development teams with new
product bring up, existing issues and product launch.
- Clearly, concisely and accuraetely report status on a regular basis
- Report and track bugs & third-party issues
- Document newly defined test cases, features and author test plans.
- Lead test related engineering discussions amongst cross functional
groups, resulting in decisions, action plans, and both engineering and
process-related projects that support the product development process.
Education
BSEE, or CS degree or equivalent
Additional Requirements
• Mac OS and iOS
• API development
• Hardware development background.
