Job Summary
The Internet Services build team is looking for an energetic Build Engineer to support our fast paced development environments.
Key Qualifications
- * At least 5 years experience as a Build Engineer, Release Engineer, or Tools Engineer
- * Familiarity with version control systems such as Subversion or Git
- * Experience with Ant
- * Experience with Java development
- * Strong knowledge of shell scripting and Unix
- * Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Description
The
Internet Services build team is looking for an energetic Build Engineer
to support our fast paced development environments. The candidate must
have excellent verbal and written communication skills and should be
able to coordinate multiple teams under tight deadlines. The candidate
must have experience building large scale projects using scripting
languages, understand the principles of relational databases and
object-oriented programming. There are internal tool development
opportunities within this position as we deliver tools and processes to
improve and automate workflow.
Specific Responsibilities include:
* Working with the engineering teams to implement build functionality
* Manage the installation of builds with the QA, DBA and System
Administrator teams
* Keep track of changes in multiple environments
* Troubleshooting complex deployment issues
* Developing tools and processes to improve and automate work flows and
communication
* Setup and support of source code repositories
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or EE, or relevant industry experience
Additional Requirements
* Experience building software on Mac OS X, Linux
* Knowledge of SQL language
* Experience with Continuous Integration tools, such as Hudson, Jenkins
* Knowledge of SCM best practices and software development processes
