We can't say what the project is exactly, but since we're Salesforce, the work is in exciting technologies like mobile, cloud, social, big data, and the new Salesforce1 platform. This is an opportunity for experienced software engineers to join our expanding, dynamic development team in San Francisco.  If you are a driven, passionate individual with a background in enterprise software development, SaaS, cloud computing, distributed systems, database internals, and/or analytics, read on! Responsibilities: Work with a focused team developing the core components of our incredible platform Learn and create bleeding edge technologies and join the discussion to shape our future Take a lead role in the strategic development of platform features Design, prototype, and produce production-quality code for new features Requirements: Dream in one or more of following languages: C/C++, golang, Python, OCamL Experience and interest in: Hadoop Hive or Pig (Latin), Lucene Solr, SQL (various) Distributed systems, databases, search, algorithms, functional programming, data visualization, user interface development (UI), GPU processing or modular technology, ETL Strong written and oral communication skills Strong functional analytic skills (e.g. how to analyze large datasets) Perks: Collaborative, close-knit environment Working on a disruptive and innovative product, really smart and fun group of people Option to work from home Thursdays, and from our San Mateo office on Tuesdays
