Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Quality Engineer will primarily be responsible for overseeing the quality systems for Bonding Tapes and Converter Products. This includes management of documentation approvals and record retention; production quality data entry, control charting, and analysis; customer complaint handling, including failure cause analysis and corrective actions; interface with laboratory Tech Service and Application Development when necessary; and auditing of quality systems to assure compliance to industry regulations.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Management of documentation; including document approvals and record retention of design, qualification, reliability, and product quality documents.
- Interfacing with production, and data entry of key quality data, along with control charting of data, variability and trend analysis. Also responsible for leading cause analysis for process/product variability and driving quality improvements for elimination of special causes and reduction of variability.
- Interfacing with production to verify adequacy of production quality systems to include auditing, formulating and approving corrective actions, and providing leadership to drive efforts for potential ISO9001 registration of production.
- Serving as resolution owner for incoming customer complaints and warranty requests. This includes coordinating the analysis and follow-up, possibly with Laboratory Development, Tech Service, Sales, and Business Leaders, to investigate the failure mode and reason for the complaint. To assure that complaint and warranty investigations perform effective root cause analysis, implementation of improvement plans, and overall assurance for complaint/warranty resolution, in order to remove complaint causes and defects from production systems and maintain overall customer satisfaction.
- Providing management for IATD’s compliance to Automotive registration ISO/TS 16949.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and productivity through daily operational support and leading small continuous improvement projects, as well as leading larger Green Belt projects in any of the IATD Business Units, which may include the following:
- Quality system improvement projects that will enable our production operations to continuously run to target, reduce variability, and consistently produce quality products for our customers. (IT systems for quality, quality training systems, quality plan improvement projects, test methods development or improvement, etc.)
- Manufacturing process improvement projects
- Product quality improvement projects
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in any science or engineering discipline
- Green belt trained
- Experience as a Quality Systems Auditor or Quality Engineer
- Experience with statistical tools to guide decisions
- Strong verbal & written communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels
- Works well in a team environment

Travel: May include up to 10% travel
