Solutions OnDemand, established in 2000, is a service organization
responsible for providing our full spectrum of SAS Solutions to the ASP
channel for SAS Institute, Inc. Yearly double-digit growth has fueled
the need to improve all operational aspects of our diverse IT
infrastructure, addressing scaling, customer service, and efficiency
issues.. As an Information Systems Engineer in the SAS Solutions
OnDemand (SSO) hosting organization, you will use your communication and
technical skills to support internal and external customers in our ASP
hosted environment. You will help design, implement, and support a large
heterogeneous computing environment. You will be responsible for
helping to maintain Service Level Agreements and improve the performance
and reliability of our hosted solutions. The SSO environment is
fast-paced with tight deadlines and shifting priorities. The ability to
adapt and react to complex issues in a timely manner is a desired
attribute.
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Identify and document support workflows
- Manage a Service Catalog
- Identify support bottlenecks
- Manage server deployment and configuration
- Monitor and respond to system events
- Fundamental understanding of IT technology components (networking, security, storage, hardware, OS, application stack, etc.) and its interactions
- Initiate, provision, and deliver IT services in a timely manner
- Detail oriented with a focus on quality
- Ability to follow established procedures with continuous process improvement in mind
- Capacity to multi-task concurrent tasks and keep them in-flight
- Critical thinking and decision making skills to properly prioritize business demands
- Proficient in documentation and Enterprise level ticket tracking
- Ability to troubleshoot and achieve results when processes fall outside of established work stream
- Comfortable in multiple operating system environments with focus on Windows and RHEL
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment.
- Minimum 2+ years as an Information Systems Administrator or Engineer in a heterogeneous, dynamic, customer-focused environment
- Experience with Linux-based and Windows operating systems
- Proven effective technical documentation
- Familiar with ITIL framework
- Ability to identify workflow bottlenecks
Equivalent
combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be
considered in place of the requirements stated above

Associate's degree in a related field plus an additional 2 years of the stated essential experience

High School Diploma (GED) plus an additional 4 years of the stated essential experience
- Collaborative team experience with superior problem-solving skills
- Experience with LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory integration within UNIX/Linux
- Understanding best practices around information security and data privacy in relation to system access and availability
- Support experience with virtualization technologies
