The primary role of this position is to create the direction, standards, and roadmaps Linux and converged infrastructure solutions. This role will research new capabilities and evaluate them against our existing model to determine the business and technical benefits. This role will lead the implementation of new Linux and converged infrastructure solutions.
- Develop Linux on x86 strategy and roadmaps for including hardware, software, and tools related to Linux on x86.
- Lead research into new Linux and x86 technologies and evaluate business benefits and costs. Build business case to adopt and implement Linux on x86 solutions.
- Develop Converged Infrastructure strategy and roadmaps including hardware, software, and tools related to Converged Infrastructure.
- Lead research into new converged platform technologies and evaluate business benefits and costs. Build business case to adopt and implement converged platform technologies.
- Serve as evangelist for Linux on x86 solutions including identifying new business projects and existing business applications which should move to this technology.
- Develop, maintain and provide technical expertise in order to transfer knowledge, operating systems and other infrastructure components.
- Establish and maintain the architecture and standard technology products in order to enable consistent, reusable and efficient practices within the IT function.
- Assess the compatibility and integration of products proposed as standards in order to ensure integrated architecture across interdependent technology segments.
- Communicate status of work to appropriate parties in order to keep them informed and involved.
- Communicate new and maintain a repository of IT standards/policies, changes or associated implementation requirements to affected stakeholders in order to ensure that resources are in place for effective and timely implementation, and that standard requirements are accessible to all stakeholders.
- Develop or deliver standards-related training or architecture updates (e.g., hardware, methodology, software packages, business data, security, retention, delivery methods and tools) to stakeholders (e.g., stewards, custodians, SAP power users, application teams) in order to ensure standards compliance and quality master data.
- Monitor standards/policy compliance (e.g., master data, infrastructure components, development approaches/tools or technical performance) by developing or executing processes and tools in order to identify or measure non-compliance.
- Consult with solution project teams in order to develop a solution design which is compliant with the architecture and standards of the Company.
- Communicate standards compliance results to stakeholders in order to (facilitate resolution) address issues with adherence to standards.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on requests to use non-compliant technologies in order to promote standard compliance and reduce complexity.
- Provide tools or job aids to users (e.g., Master Data Maintenance tool and job aides, Business Systems Methodology) in order to facilitate compliance to standards.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience: At least 9 years of relevant experience in Information Technology

Technical Skills:
- Application Development Methodology: Ability to apply the standard application development methods covering the full development lifecycle (e.g., project preparation, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support) to ensure solution quality and consistency of process.
- IT Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the key directional trends and emerging technologies in the IT industry. The candidate should also have knowledge of the key vendors, their strategic and tactical plans, and internal/external advisory services.
- System Design: Knowledge of system design procedures and the ability to translate functional business requirements into an application system or process to meet the clients' needs that also meets all relevant Company standards.
- IT Operating Environment: Knowledge of operating environments (e.g., client/server, MVS, AS/400) and processes (e.g., security administration, network management, production control) used in solution design and development efforts. The candidate should have knowledge of key organizational contacts and groups supporting operations to allow for information sharing and issue resolution.
- Process Modeling: Knowledge of process modeling procedures and the ability to decompose business processes by taking into account software and system capabilities and to ensure reuse, integration, maintainability and efficiency.
- Technology Architecting: Ability to holistically conceptualize and model the use of technologies across a broad set of business applications to translate business strategies and requirements into technical strategies and to apply the architecture models to create achievable system designs for business solutions.
- Technical Writing: Knowledge of and ability to apply effective design principles to communicate complex and detailed information across various communication vehicles and information type (e.g., web site content, on-line help text, technical content) and global environments.
- Technology Architecture & Standards Knowledge: Knowledge of the Company's technology architecture standards, including architecture segments, segment architects and standard technology solutions.
- IS Standards and Tools: Knowledge of and ability to apply the standards, procedures and tools of the Business Systems and Information Infrastructure functions in order to efficiently execute all support and development work activities.
- Data and Information Standards Integration: Knowledge of and ability to apply data and information standards in global applications. This includes the ability to identify the need for additional standards to meet business requirement for integrated information across the Company.
