This role will work directly with customers and internal partners to provide solutions and improvements to products during commissioning and in the aftermarket. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Work directly with customers and ensure effective communication of progress and results
  • Perform system level troubleshooting on complex issues
  • Provide technical leadership and ownership of assigned projects
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Work non-standard hours in support of rig down situations
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and standards
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects is consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with drill-through or BOP equipment, or similar mechanical systems
    Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to travel to offshore and onshore locations for customer support
  • GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a customer facing role
  • Familiar with API standards for pressure control and drilling equipment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified
  • Experienced RCA leader
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools
  • Ability to make data-based recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • Ability to travel to support customer needs
  • Experience working with field data and information
  • Proven troubleshooting & communication experience in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication/organization/presentation skills
