Job description
IBM is seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator who will be able to provide DB2 skills and expertise needed to maintain DB2 UDB on iSeries and AIX platforms.

Candidates will need to demonstrate, at a minimum, working knowledge of DB2 concepts and practices. In addition candidates will need to have the necessary skills to create, modify and remove DB2 components such as tables, indexes, journals as well as maintain data in tables to address application issues cause by data anomalies. Problem analysis and resolution skills are a must.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Resolve errors and problems
  • Monitoring daily jobs & taking corrective action
  • DB setup, indexing & optimization
  • Data Mapping, Data Load, Data Migration
  • Managing Security, privileges and profiles
  • User Administration
  • Tuning SQL statements
  • Writing & running basic scripts to correct data
  • Incident / Problem & Change Management
  • Documentation
  • Required
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • English: Fluent
    Preferred
    • Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
    • At least 2 years experience in DB2 UDB for iSeries
    • At least 2 years experience in Information Server DataStage
    • At least 2 years experience in CL programming
    • At least 2 years experience in DB2 UDB for AIX/LINUX
    • At least 2 years experience in Database Modeling & Design
    • At least 1 year experience in operations or administration on iSeries or AIX
    • At least 2 years experience in SQL
