Job description

Software Engineer, IBM Corporation, Somers, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the United States: Design and develop software components and enhancements for Telecom Expense Management software solution. Analyze and understand high-level business requirements set forth by product management and translate them to low-level technical details. Implement translated business requirements using existing technologies. Design and develop front end graphical user interface (GUI) components. Analyze scope for improvements in application performance and memory usage. Employ application server concepts to minimize unavailability of the system. Interact with production servers for troubleshooting. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards. Test and verify the functionality of new features and bug fixes. Work with offshore development and QA teams. Utilize: Object Oriented Java Programming (J2EE, Design Patterns, Java Development Environment (Eclipse)), Database Technologies (SQL, Oracle, DB2), Hibernate, ORM Concepts, Telecom Expense Management product knowledge (telecom billing, vendor and inventory management, invoice processing and auditing, cost allocations), AJAX, and Echo 2. Requirements: Master's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's Degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Computer Programmer, Software Engineer or related. 40 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:00pm. V112. Degree: Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience, or a Master's degree plus one (1) year of experience. Field of Study: Information Technology, Computer Science or related. Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Computer Programmer, Software Engineer or related.
